Swaby Group Parish Council covers the parishes of Swaby, South Thoresby, Driby, Haugh and Calceby.  Swaby village straddles the A16, The village and Church of Swaby sits off the main road.  Swaby village hall is accessed from the A16 and is a thriving hall.

South Thoresby sits off the A16 to the east and the parish church sits on the edge of the village.  Within the boundary there is the South Thoresby quarry works and the nature reserve running alongside the A16.

Haugh, Driby and Calceby are small hamlets situated off the A16.

Current council News

The next Parish Council meeting is scheduled for 12th November - the Council meeting to commence at 7pm.

However we have asked a speaker to come to talk about the National Grid proposals (pylons, solar farms, substations and other associated infrastructure).  Watch this space for confirmation.

 

 

 

Postal Voters

Amendments to the Elections Act now requires postal voters to supply their National Insurance number, date of birth and signature.  part of the amended act requires all existing postal voters who have not yet reapplied under the snew scheme to reapply before 31st January 2026.  If you are a postal voter, ELDC will contact you, however this affects approximately 15 - 18000 voters, so if you have not received notification from ELDC by December this year regarding postal vote please contact them before mid January 2026.  contact details will be posted later to give time for ELDC to contact people
